It was earlier this year in February that Mini introduced a full line-up of special edition models. The list included the Resolute Edition for the hatchbacks, Untamed Edition for the Countryman, and Untold Edition for the Clubman. The availability of these models is limited to select markets with Malaysia recently getting lucky by receiving a special edition for one of the Mini cars.

Earlier this month Mini Malaysia announced the arrival of a new special edition model for one of its hatches, the Copper SE. By virtue of which (and discussed earlier) we got the 2022 Mini Electric Resolute Edition. And today we’ll be discussing this special edition Mini which the company says is inspired by its rich design heritage and proud racing past. So let's get started.

Limited to just a few units as per the automaker, the special edition Copper SE retails for RM 197,934 on the road without insurance. Thus making it RM 12k dearer than the regular Copper SE. Each purchase is accompanied by a two-year, unlimited warranty.

The Mini Resolute Edition makes an instant impression on the onlooker with its pure, authentic style. At the front, the car flaunts a bold, modern bumper design and the rest of the elements (at the side and rear) follow. The Piano Black Mini waistline finisher adds to the car's sporty and elegant look.

The car comes finished in a striking, rich, and deep green tone called the Rebel Green. With this colour scheme, the special edition Cooper SE pays tribute to the original MINI Connaught Green hue used on the Austin 1100. Complementing the green perfectly are the edition-specific bonnet stripes that surely enhance the car’s look and match perfectly with the Resolute Bronze tone seen on the headlight & taillight ring, side scuttles, and door handles.

Further part of the car’s striking colour scheme is the Pepper White contrast roof and mirror caps. It all evokes the car’s sporty origin. Not to forget the distinctive Piano Black dipped exhaust pipe, inner grille frame, and MINI logo on the bonnet & boot.

The moment one enters the Mini Resolute Edition the uniqueness of the car begins to show. For instance, the car gets edition-specific door sill finishers at the front (both driver and passenger side). The steering wheel also gets the signature ‘Resolute’ lettering. It also showcases an eye-catching, contemporary dashboard with exclusive foil in Resolute design.

The level of craftsmanship that went into making the Mini Resolute Edition can be known by the upholstery itself. It is an exclusive combination of cloth and leatherette decorated in stylish Black Pearl Light Checkered tone with carbon black lines. Complementing the upholstery are the black armrest and knee rolls.

Apart from its unique style features, the Mini Resolute Edition also comes equipped with bits that not only look good but also add to the car’s functionality. Part of the list is the car’s exclusive side scuttles nestling on the front fenders and the ergonomically shaped Nappa Leather steering wheel with six o’ clock spoke inlay offers good grip and sporty character.

Powering the Resolute Edition is the same tried and tested electric setup as seen in the regular Copper SE. So, a 184 PS/270 Nm churning front-mounted e-motor that draws power from a 32.6 kWh lithium-ion battery.

Like the standard Cooper SE, the Resolute Edition with an 11 kWh AC charger gets fully charged in 2 hrs 30 mins. The DC fast charger (up to 50 kW), on the other hand, takes the battery level from 10-80 percent in just 36 mins.

While Mini Malaysia has not shared Resolute Edition’s full specs sheet, we expect the car to feature the same inclusions (if not less) as the regular Copper SE. Therefore, the following features are expected to be included in the car -
